Be a wizard in the blizzard, a mystical machine gun!
Often times, pay attention, WE lose our mind dragged by our thoughts.
It is most like WE are in the middle of a very wide river and the more we try to slow down the waters, the more impetuous the waters keeps on flowing.
The question is: who are WE.
My answer to this after meditating on the subject a pretty good amount of time is that WE ARE the manifestation of the sum our ATTENTIONS.
In every way you can think, it is always our attention who dictate what happens in our life, the thoughts we enlighten, the feelings we allow to permeate our mind and penetrate into us, the movements we decide to make the position where we are and where we will be.
I consider my Soul to be very much like a Sun always spreading its rays in every direction, 360 degrees and my Attention to be the filter where its rays are directed(now you understand the meaning when I use the Sun next to my name, uhm?!šš).
The problem to me, was that I wasn't able to master this powerful tool at all and for many years it was, and often today it still is, like a wild bull ready to unseat me off of it. You never know when your attention will leave for the bribe. It was clear to me that I had to find a way to watch over it to find a way to let it go straight where I decided to point it. Just like a sort of machine gun.
What I did to deal with it and get this job done, in the beginning was first of all to focus on it. In other words I tried to pay attention where my attention was going. Like in Siddhartha (great book Siddhartha by the way), I imagined myself to be on the side of the river and no more in the middle of it, so to be the one watching over the flow of thoughts and being the one who has in its hand that powerful torch that attention is. This part is pretty long and take a lot of effort and time to adapt the mind which had a previous bad habit, but the more I tried to strengthen my focus the easier it was both to stare at my thoughts and to point on those I choose.
This a cool fact: did you ever noticed that our thoughts are like deflated balloons? I did. And I noticed too that my attention, like that of any other person (or creature I guess), is like the air that gives to those thoughts the right amount of pressure they need to enlarge them self and take shape. Thoughts just need time and attention. The more time passes, the more bullets of attention the thought gets and the more it grows stronger real and refinedā¦.not refined sorry..definite.
One day I was discussing with a friend of mine about this subject and he told me this: āYes, by giving for the right time the right amount of attention to the fact that dragons exists, I can probably convince some people that they are real. And once a dragon is real in the mind, it is realā¦for real!āā¦..At first you can say this dragons thing to be very stupid. I said so too, but in the end i had toagree with him. Never forget that our own reality, our own daily life is based on the solid thought that painted pieces of paper worth up to several hundred dollars...or eurosā¦..or..ok you got the concept I guess.
After this, there was another issue, another problem. I also noticed that my thoughts were pretty random for the most part and I had to find the strength to be able to detach my attention from the undesirable ones to put it back on those I liked the mostā¦.or the correct ones. It was a very hard job because if you look, as I was saying before, Attention in the end, is a byproduct of our Soul and soā¦.what I could do to gain strength at Soulās level, so to literally uplift the attention from an incorrect thought to put it on the right track?
I found a very strange and original way to meditate very deeply and I will tell you next timeā¦.I already went too long on this one I think.
